I recently joined Reddit and learned that there is an entire diabetic community consulting with one another everyday out there! This was such an eye opening experience for me because I have never really had the chance in my life to just talk freely to other diabetics whenever I wanted to - whether it was about a problem or a rant, I just never had the opportunity to!
Not to say that I don't enjoy speaking to my friends or family; it's just being able to click a button and/or open an app where hundreds of diabetics are there who understand what you are going through was just so crazy to me!
With that said, on Reddit I decided to ask my fellow diabetics a question - whether or not they think there will ever be a T1D cure. The answers and responses left me speechless! There were so many pessimistic answers, which made me rethink about all my years as a diabetic:
Yet, there were also many optimistic answers which reminded me to have faith and appreciate what I have in my life:
With that said, I personally don't know if there will ever be a cure for diabetes, and I personally really don't care at this point of my life because I refuse to let diabetes stand in my way! However, I have faith that I will one day be able to live, pump and shots free, and be so thankful and gracious that no one else will have to go through the same hardships as I did.
