Climbing Cinder Cone: Summer 2017

This summer, I did a lot - took a chemistry class at Sac City, went to Mexico, hung out with my cousins and friends, and so much more! However, one thing I was most proud of was climbing Cinder's Cone in Lassen Volcanic National Park! It was incredibly difficult, but worth it in the long run, and an experience I recommend to anyone willing to try something new!

Here are some fun facts about Cinder Cone:
-It is located about 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Lassen Peak and provides an excellent view of Brokeoff Mountain, Lassen Peak, and Chaos Crags.
-The cone was built to a height of 750 feet
-Sorry, Cinder Cone isn't that fun, and there aren't many facts... so enjoy some pictures instead!

At the bottom Cinder Cone... before we climbed up! While the climb may not look that hard, the pathway was made up of many rocks in which your foot sinks into when you climb, making it even more difficult! It's hard to explain, but if you want to know what it was like you'll just have to climb it (:

Once we finally got to the top, we were so incredibly tired. However, my cousin Natalie and I were still able to give a thumbs up to the camera!

Selfies from the top!

In the end, climbing Cinder Cone was an amazing experience, and I was glad I had the opportunity to share it with my family! It is something from summer 2017 I will never forget!
