What is YES2COLLEGE

Hello! As many of you know, I am diabetic (: Anyway, there is this program known as YES2COLLEGE, which I have been given the incredible opportunity to host and organize this year. YES2COLLEGE was created with the intention to help diabetics make the transition and learn about going to college!

(Summary of what it is!)
This is a free event for parents, children and siblings to learn about the transitioning process of being a teenager to becoming a young adult (8th grade summer onwards) and has three components:
  1. Learning to manage diabetes and life as you group up.
  2. Learning to navigate the high school years - diabetes, studies, standardized tests, financial aids, scholarships, sports, application process, stress and parental role.
  3. Learning about college with diabetes.
However, although it was designed for diabetic kids, it can and will help any kids and teens who want to learn more about college and how to prep - and give you all the information you will need to know! There will be speakers there who will talk about ACT/SAT prep, first year of college, finanacial aid and scholarship help, traveling abroad, sports, and so much more!

So please check out http://yes2college.weebly.com/ if you are at all interested (please note that it's still under construction!) and click the sign up page if you want to go! It's free and on a Saturday, and although May 20th may seem like a far away date, it's always good to plan ahead!
