While I am an independent diabetic woman now ;), it wasn't always the case! In fact, throughout all of my years in elementary school, I had a nurse!

Fourth or fifth grade (: |
One of my favorite nurses was
Nurse Susan! She was the kindest woman, kindest nurse, and best friend! She was my nurse at my third elementary school, from grades four to six. However, by fifth grade, I didn't really
need her help, so I usually didn't even have to meet with her (I just texted my parents). However, since there was still two other diabetic girls who went to school with me, she came everyday.

While I stopped going to her for diabetes related assistance pretty much completely by mid-fifth grade, I still went in to talk to her because I just enjoyed her company! I also sometimes saw her outside of school with my mom, such as at plays she made costumes for.

Fifth or sixth grade? |
The point of this story is that so many people have helped me with my diabetes, including my Nurse Susan. While, over time, I didn't need her help as much, I am so thankful I met her because she is one of the kindest and best people I have met! I still keep in contact with her to this day!
