The One Good Thing About Winter Fat...

Winter is my absolute favorite season. When I was younger, I felt pressured into believing hot, sunny weather was the best time of the year and that June and July were the best months of the year. But now, as a grow and obtain more wisdom (haha... it's a joke), I realize that I love winter and the cold weather! I love wearing furry jackets and the same sweaters every week. I love sleeping in and drinking hot chocolate. I love the smell on candles around my house. I love...

..Okay I'm getting a little off track...

...The point is I love winter. However, one part I don't like about winter is the winter fat that comes with it.

For the most part, I think I'm a pretty active teen. I compete in cross country and track, and in those months I run pretty regularly. The problem is the time in between... November to December - when I stop running. I know it's bad and that I should keep running, but let's face it, I'm pretty lazy during my favorite time of the year, and I don't want to run.

With that said, as you can probably guess from the title, I tend to get a little bit of winter fat (okay, a lot). And like anyone else, I don't particularly like it. However, one good thing that comes with this extra layer of skin is when I put on pump sites and Dexcom insertions! They don't hurt as much because of the winter fat.

Okay, honestly this isn't 100% true, but I like to convince myself that my extra gained weight is beneficial in some ways ;p.

Happy holidays!
